Subscription Rates: Parabola has been doing its utmost to keep its subscription rates down. In addition to our annual rate of $29.95, (a discount of over $8 off the retail price), Parabola also features occasional special offers, which appear in the magazine or through introductory mailings. These special offers apply to gift subscriptions as well. There is also a special ongoing discount rate of $18 for those buying a subscription for a prisoner or for prison-support groups. How often does Parabola appear? Parabola is a quarterly, which arrives in bookstores and on the newsstands seasonally: Spring issue, February 1; Summer, May 1; Fall, August 1; and Winter, November 1. Subscribers should allow one month for the subscription or gift subscription request to be processed. Those who see an issue at a bookstore or newsstand and call to subscribe should double-check whether or not the current issue would be the first they receive on their new subscription. Otherwise, it becomes a back issue, which has its own separate charge. How can I give Parabola subscriptions in time for a birthday or holiday gift? If you will be giving a subscription to Parabola for someone's birthday, anniversary or holiday present, please place this order well in advance so that our card notifying them of your gift can reach them in time. The same applies for orders from our catalogue. While last minute shipping is possible, it is expensive. Can I purchase a copy of the current issue directly from Parabola? Yes, for a charge of $9.50. Can I request a sample of Parabola before placing a subscription order? A sample back issue may be sent out in support of a promotion for a fee of $6.00. Parabola reserves the right to select the issue at random. Please note that it is not our general practice to send out the current issue as a sample. Those moving should notify us six weeks in advance as we cannot be responsible for issues, which the post office does not forward.
